Vinnie Ferra + Me @ The Knitting Factory (January 7, 2009)

Vinnie Ferra played a sold out show at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood last night, and he kindly asked me to sing with him. I sang two covers with Vinnie, the first was "9 Crimes" by Damien Rice. For the second, my favorite of the two, we were joined by Noah Gersh on guitar for "John Wayne Gacy, Jr." by Sufjan Stevens off the Illinois album. The night was a success with many scantily-clad fans cheering at the show then rushing to the Le Deux after party.

tunes i <3: METRONOMY

Joseph Mount and his collaborators Gabriel Stebbing and Oscar Cash (METRONOMY) were finally propelled onto the pop music scene with their single "Heartbreaker" that soon became a anthem of the summer. The band mixes elements of CRYSTAL CASTLES, HOT CHIP and BLOC PARTY on their album Nights Out. Follow the link to hear a new take on their electro sound....

The Virgins & Lissy Trullie @ The Bowery Ballroom (December 12, 2008)

What an amazing Friday night in NYC's Bowery Ballroom. Lissy Trullie started the night off well, ending with a cover of Hot Chip's "Ready For the Floor" followed by a dance filled performance by The Virgins.  Being a fan of photographer, Ryan McGinley, of course I'm gonna like The Virgins. Lead singer, Donald Cumming, met guitarist, Wade Oates, while doing a McGinley photo shoot in Mexico. The Virgins represent a life in New York City at its truest. Their lyrics embody everything that is the young life in Manhattan with songs like "Rich Girls" and "Teen Lovers". With Donald's amazing dance moves and the bands great energy, The Virgins put on an amazing show. Oh, and don't forget about The Virgins' nerdy yet amazing clothes ie Wade's duck-tape pants, love them!
