Once We Became Nick's Sisters (January 22, 2009)

Once we became Nick's sisters in an attempt to avoid being kicked out of The Rock & Roll Hotel, we became known as the "under agers" by the entire staff of the R&R. We were aloud in The Virgins' back room but "had to keep the door open, and no alcohol, no alcohol!!" Wade described it perfectly that it felt like summer camp. Once we left the R&R we made a trip to Wendy's on our way to the Hotel Helix. Let's just say, the Helix was straight out of an Austin Power's movie. Here's a brief description:
"Ready for your 15 minutes? Then hop into the spotlight of the Hotel Helix, where colorful décor and Hollywood style set the stage for a luxurious stay that’s anything but ordinary. Step up to our ultra-mod check-in pods and let our elevators whisk you to your oh-so-chic room. The sheer drapes surrounding the platform beds can be pulled closed to create cozy alcoves - emitting soft glows as light dances off the curtains. Take a moment to catch your breath and put on your dancing shoes. You won’t find a more fashionable address anywhere in the District. And don’t forget your shades – the paparazzi are out in full force at this trendy DC boutique hotel. Escape the ordinary, and immerse yourself in Hollywood glitz and glamour.  From a sparkling driveway and oversized English lawn chairs to Pucci-style print carpets and cherry-red ottomans, this sleek yet small luxury hotel in Washington DC tantalizes all of your senses."
Those snakeskin elevators were hard to resist....Anyways once we were there Adriana went insane making water tornados...to make a story short, Cara had an 8AM and it was past 4 so we had to bounce.

The Virgins & Lissy Trullie @ The Rock & Roll Hotel (January 22, 2009)

Lissy Trullie opened for The Virgins that random Thursday night in Washington, DC. Although the band had replaced the beautiful Harley Viera-Newton with a new bassist, the band still had a great set and I definitely want to see them for a third time when they return the to the R&R on April 8th this year. Even though I coincidently somehow had already seen The Virgins twice in the past four months, the third time around the show was still exciting and fun. Their outfits never cease to amaze me with their awkward yet somehow sexy ripped jeans and vintage shirts. Once again the band played through their entire self-titled album including songs like "Private Affair" and the very popularized "Rich Girls". The ballad-esc nature of Donald singing "Fernando Pando" is always a nice break in the very fun upbeat set.

Check out the RAC Mix of The Virgin's song "Rich Girls" if you're sick of the original being played on every teen drama on television.
