Tunes i <3: NOISETTES

Dan Smith (guitar), Shingai Shoniwa (singer/bass), and Jamie Morrison (drummer) make up the London based band NOISETTES. Their single of the week "Sister Rosetta (Capture the Spirit) made it big in both the US and UK. Their style is similar to that of THE KILLS and YEAH YEAH YEAHS with their soul inspired punk rock music. I love them and I'll be playing their song "Scratch Your Name" from the album What's the Time, Mr. Wolf? on my radio show tomorrow, but I thought I'd give you a sneak peek of two new singles from their new album. Check it out at Kickin' the Peanuts!.....

POLICY LOUNGE truth love & liberty

At Policy's (1904 14th Street NW) grand opening last night, the crowd was very mixed, ranging from people in jeans and tee shirts mingling with others in suits and ties. But that's what Policy is all about ie it's not pretentious. Policy is filled with in-your-face graffiti that just screams New York City. Hopefully this newest addition to hit The U Street corridor will continue to hold its own.

RA RA RAINED-OUT @ R&R...at least we have seth rogen

Flashback to the high school days of hookah, and that's what you get when it rains in Washington, DC.  I'm sorry Ra Ra, but waiting in the rain for 5 minutes at the R&R was long enough, next time we should discuss a plan for these pictures to be taken. At least we had Seth Rogen to comfort us throughout the weirdest night ever. I mean, I almost past out and died at Lauriel Plaza and we learned that it's okay to smoke weed in DC Cabs, but not cigs, sorry Laz.
